Beloved husband of 58 years to Karen Lober (née Schrenker); devoted father of Sherry (Jeff) Tottleben and Grant Lober; adoring grandfather of Jacob, Jaimie, and Jacie Tottleben. Jim was a cherished brother, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, teacher, coach, and a friend to many.

Jim and Karen shared a lifetime of memories together, especially enjoying fishing and camping trips to Kentucky Lake, the Michigan Dunes, and Destin, Florida with their extended family. A lifelong lover of music and a loyal fan of the St. Louis Browns, Jim was known for his sharp wit, boundless curiosity, and his gift for turning strangers into friends.
