Alma Louise Manning was born on January 6, 1935 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Thaddeus and Zebeline (nee Haumschildt) Wilkiewicz, and entered into rest on Sunday, April 27 at the age of 90.
Loving wife of over 66 years to the late Vincent Manning. Dear mother of Patricia (Joseph) Martineau, and James (Theresa) Manning. Grandmother of Kimberly (Dan) Onder, Richard (Abby) Meyer, and Robert Martineau. Great grandmother of Isabelle, Jacob, Joseph, Sadie, and Faye. Sister of the late Theresa Schmidt. Dear cousin, aunt, and friend of many.
Alma was a gentle woman of deep faith and unwavering devotion to both God and her family. Her life was a testament to grace, humility, and kindness, guided by strong Christian values that she lived out daily. She always thought of others before herself. She appreciated the beauty in creation and often commented on the nice breeze, the spring flowers, the old trees, the sound of the birds and was especially fond of chickadees. She truly looked for the good in the world and in others. One of her favorite sayings was “it’s a good day when you learn something new.” She was extremely proud to be the wife of a policeman, and she lifted first responders up in prayer every day. She adored her husband and we are comforted knowing that she is back in the arms of the love of her life to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary, May 7.
SERVICES a Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, May 8 at Kutis South County Funeral home 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. My deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Alma Manning.
I was truly blessed to get to know Alma. I met her in our bible study class at St. Mark’s Church and meeting her after mass on Sunday mornings. I knew right off the bat that she was special in so many ways. She was kind, thoughtful, polite an overall genuine lovely human being. She was an angel to me and made me want to be a better person. I learned from her heart. I will miss her, but hope to see her again.
Friends Forever From high school to death.
We had fun in high school. Were in the band together and neither one of us could read a note. Still can,t get over that her kids didn,t know she was our Prom Queen. Probaly didn,t know she was our school cheer leader__one of three (small school) Now three of us met at Breadco every month for morning chat. You are truly missed but we will meet again Love you
Arlene
