Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Marcinkiewicz Jr.; devoted mother of Denise (Eric) Thompson, Joseph (Tammi) Marcinkiewicz, Jennifer Marcinkiewicz, and the late Deborah Marcinkiewicz; adoring grandmother of Mackenzie, Jason, and Joshua Thompson, and Joey and Alyssa Marcinkiewicz; dearest daughter of the late Edward and Pelegia “Peggy” Horstman; loving sister of Donald (Linda) Horstman, Barbara (the late Jack) Mincher, and the late Jesse (Delores) Horstman; our dear aunt, great-aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, and friend. Marian was born and raised in St. Louis, where she attended St. Laborius Grade School and later graduated from St. Alphonsus “Rock” Catholic High School. From an early age, she showed a strong work ethic and a caring spirit—qualities that would guide her throughout her life. She spent her career in the grocery store business, where she was known for her dedication, kindness, and friendly smile. Marian worked at Warehouse Foods/Price Chopper/Shop ’n Save, and later at Dierbergs, serving as both a checker and an office manager. Her coworkers and customers alike appreciated her steady presence and warm demeanor. Marian had a deep and unwavering faith in God. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Sabina Catholic Church, where she found comfort, purpose, and community. Later in life, she moved to St. Paul Parish to be closer to her grandchildren. Throughout her life, Marian was a caretaker to many. She lovingly cared for her husband, Joe, her daughter, Jennifer, and her parents. Her gentle heart and giving nature touched everyone who knew her. Marian often reminded those around her that “everything will work out if you leave it in God’s hands.” This faith-filled belief was not only her guiding principle but also her gift to her family and friends—a reminder of peace, trust, and grace. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her faith, kindness, and strength of spirit. In memory of Marian, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Pony Bird (1615 Vine School Rd., Herculaneum, MO 63048) are greatly appreciated.
