Marilyn Kay Freeman

Marilyn Kay Freeman, daughter of the late Ola and Opal Rylander, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2024.  She was born in Fort Scott, KS on November 8, 1942.  Marilyn is survived by her sons Brent (Kristin) Fornwalt of Wildwood, MO and Scott (Laura) Fornwalt of New Castle, Oklahoma;  cherished grandmother of Grace (Dylan) Baker, Luke (Rebecca) Fornwalt, Brynne Fornwalt, and Mia Fornwalt and great-grandmother of Lou and Tatum Baker.  She is also survived by brother Gary Rylander and many extended family members and treasured friends.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband John G. Freeman, granddaughter Teddie Fornwalt, and sister Karen Cromer.

 

Mariyn retired from the Special School District after 33 years of service.

No visitation or services are planned at this time.  She will be laid to rest at  Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with her husband John G. Freeman

  1. Marilyn was a classmate of Jerry and me. Marilyn was my maid of honor when I was married. Our birthdays were one day apart so we celebrated together in our younger years.
    Our heartfelt condolences to the family. Marilyn was a special friend.
