Shirley A. Martin, St. Louis, MO, died at her home on 6/11/2020. A private memorial service will be held at White Flag Church.
Ms. Martin was born in Mt. Vernon, IL, daughter to Ida E. Bradford. She was born on December 10, 1935. She graduated from Mt. Vernon Township High School in 1953.
Ms. Martin’s first job was at the Granada Theatre in Mt. Vernon. Her career continued as a bookkeeper, at the Lynn Ann Shop, and at Famous Barr/Macy’s (17 years). She was a member of White Flag Church. She enjoyed ocean vacations, trips to Gatlinburg, gardening and word search puzzles.
Ms. Martin is survived by one daughter, Lynn Martin and spouse Dena of Lindenhurst, IL, and one son, Randy Martin and spouse Cheryl of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Kimberly Leighton of St. Louis, Bradley Martin and spouse Renee of St. Louis, and Abigail Martin of Columbia, MO; three great-grandchildren, Jackson Leighton, Jade Leighton, and Mila Martin. Ms. Martin was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital [http://giftfunds.stjude.org/ShirleyAnnMartin]. A memorial brick will be placed at the North entrance of the Saint Louis Zoo.
