In Loving Memory

Masgio, Anthony “Papa Tony”

Masgio, Anthony “Papa Tony”

77, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 after having back surgery. He leaves behind his dear wife of 53 years, Carol (Apollo) Masgio, daughter, Ginnie Masgio, son, Anthony (Dana) Masgio III, son, Kristofer (Misty) Masgio, daughter, Kimberly (Kevin) Precht, 10 grandchildren, family and friends.

He was born and escaped a war torn Hungary to come to the US in 1958. He was employed at Metropolitan Sewer District for 45 years until his retirement in 2011. Even though he didn’t have a college education his intelligence was beyond schooling. He loved to read and learn about history, music and of course life. He never met a stranger. He could talk with anyone. His heart was so big and his love endless! He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Road Sunday, November 13, 3 to 7 pm. Concludes at funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the American Kidney Foundation in his name. A memorial service is being planned for a future date.

  3. To my darling husband,

We had a beautiful marriage with 4 children and spouses that gave us 10 beautiful grandchildren. This made our family grow to 21. We are a very close knit family that share love, laughter and fun. Your nieces and nephews loved Uncle Tony and the little ones “Papa Tony”. You were so proud of all your grandchildren and children and you will be missed greatly. I know you are at peace and no longer in pain and I will see you again. I love you so much. Rest In Peace.

  13. Finding the words to write to tell you how much I loved him is so hard. He was the father figure we had after my dad and your dad passed. His kindness and understanding will always be remembered. Our children and grandchildren loved him so much, The Littles (Stephanie’s kids) couldn’t wait to see him. They loved his beard, and cheeks when he smiled said he looked like Santa Clause. Yes we will miss him, but the stories we talk about will make the memories so much easier to hold onto. Papa Tony we love you.

  15. I sat and spoke with Tony many times. I asked about his younger years growing up in Europe. I loved listening to his stories from his youth an the funny family stories here. I am a better person by knowing Tony and I will miss him terribly. He was a beautiful soul.
