Mayberry, Kay Karen

November 24, 1932 - September 2, 2025

Age 92, of St. Louis, passed away Tuesday morning, September 2, 2025, at The Fountains of West County. She was born November 24, 1932. She was the beloved daughter of Elmer Wm. David Kahre and Willy Mae Kahre.

Kay was a beacon of kindness and compassion for all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, care, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her.

Kay was sociable and enjoyed building connections with others. From the friendships she made while working at General American Insurance Co., to becoming a singer, soloist, and dance coordinator for the Twilight Singers, she was outgoing and positive to those around her.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 42 years, Leslie F. Mayberry and sister Jean Black.

She is survived by her brother, Norman Kahre and his wife Jacque; daughters, Micki Brittin and partner Rick Shankar, Connie Warren and husband Steve, Karla Brooks and husband Bill, Bethany Paez and husband Louis; grandchildren, Nichole Jacobson and husband Michael, Ryan Heyl and wife Kelly, Matthew Warren and wife Amanda, Amanda Pennington and husband Josh, Travis Warren and wife Dani, Emily Lafond and husband Luke, Andrew (Drew) Miller and wife Kasandra, Katie Pitner, Lindsay Jost and husband David Haase, Parker Eskew; and great grandchildren, Emily Heyl, Bradon Heyl, Ava Heyl, Carter Warren, Blake Warren, Aubrey Warren, Gavin Warren, Olivia Warren, Weslie Warren, Cora Peters, Dean Lafond, Noah Lafond, Beau Lafond, Lydia Miller, Brock Miller, Grace Pitner, Ellie Pitner. She also leaves other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral service at Kutis Funeral Home at (5255 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63129,) on Sat. 9/13 at 10AM. Interment Park Lawn Cemetery. with Ron Llewellyn officiating. Ryan Heyl, Matthew Warren, Travis Warren, Andrew “Drew” Miller, Parker Eskew, and Landon Paez will serve as pallbearers. Visitation at Kutis Friday 5-7PM

Although Kay’s physical presence may no longer be in our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.
