  1. Sending my deepest sympathies to the family of Fr John🙏🏻 A kind & wonderful priest. It was a pleasure to know him when he was at St John the Baptist

  2. I was an altar boy for him at St Timothy parish. He was very kind and thoughtful priest. I wish his tenure at St Timothy had been longer.

  3. He was a favorite priest of our family when he was at St. Dominic Savio. Mom would invite him over for dinner and he’d say Mass in our home, and played games outside with the neighborhood kids. Such a good man.

Well done, good and faithful servant.

  4. Fr. Mayer was a good friend to our family of eight kids. He would take us water skiing at Winter Park on the Meramec River. In 1976 when my brother Jeffrey died in a fall on a Holy Redeemer field trip to Rockwoods Reservation, it fell upon him to come to the house to tell my mom, and then go with her to tell my dad. One Christmas Eve after he retired, he came to my mom’s condo and said Mass for the family when she was no longer able to get out. “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
