Mayer, Robert F. “Bob”

77, departed his life on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Barnes West Hospital.

Bob was born in St. Louis on April 20, 1941 to the late  Anthony and Ann (Zahner). He was the older brother of twins Jim and the late Tom, and  brother-in-law to Carol and Rita. He was the  beloved husband of the late Betty (Boeckmann) of 40 years and survived by 4 boys: John (Laura), Keith (Leslie), Mark (Wendy), and Craig (Sherri). He was a grandpa to 11 grandchildren: Travis, Samantha, Ryan, Nicholas, Jordan, Austin, Megan,  Kathryn, Ellen, Jack and Cole.

Bob worked a few jobs in his lifetime: car salesman, volunteer firefighter, and was a typesetter/printer at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for 33 years until his retirement. After retirement, Bob enjoyed traveling and spending time in Florida with his dear friend of 15 years, Carol Martin.

Services: Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Fenton, MO on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10 a.m. Bob  supported charitable organizations; in lieu of flowers, please make  donations to: Backstoppers (in the name of High Ridge Fire  Department), P.O.
