  1. My heart breaks for Vicki, Petey, Johnny & Ryan and families. John was a great boss at CFSL and at the USDA. A great mentor and good friend. I hate that we lost touch the last few years! John loved his family and so proud of his kids! He will be so missed!

  15. Vicki, So sorry to hear of John’s passing. Still remember John and Petey coming to our first girl’s softball practice. Little did John know he was to become my assistant coach. Great guy!! 17. I was hoping I would not come across this obituary but I was afraid I would someday. It was a pleasure caring for John, despite the most unfortunate of circumstances. Vicki, you and your family were so lovely and well deserving of a miracle if there was one to be had. It was wonderful getting to know your family and talking sports with everyone but John – Hallmark movies were fun to talk about with him, though. Getting to know incredible individuals like you all is refreshing and a reminder of why I chose the career I did.

I’m so very sorry for your loss but find comfort in knowing that John is no longer suffering. You guys have been in my thoughts for months and I will continue thinking of you all as you navigate the road to healing. Many, many hugs. <3
