Beloved husband of Dawn McCracken (nee Harit); dear father of Rebecca (Ryan) Sanft and the late Matthew McCracken; dear grandfather of Graham and Madison Sanft; dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, pastor, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Leona (nee Hall) McCracken; his twin brother, Larry McCracken; and his son, Matthew McCracken.
Rev. McCracken graduated from Lutheran High School South (1978), Concordia College, River Forest (1982), and Webster University (1984). He taught for 12 years in the St. Louis area before graduating from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 1998 with a Master of Divinity degree. He served as pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church in Lebanon, Illinois, and was later called to Trinity Lutheran Church in Troy, Missouri, where he faithfully served since 2004.
Services: Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel (10151 Gravois) on Wednesday, March 25, from 4–8 p.m.; then taken to Salem Lutheran Church (8343 Gravois) on Thursday, March 26, for visitation from 9 a.m. until the service at 10 a.m. Interment at Our Redeemer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association or Trinity Lutheran Church (Troy, Missouri).
