  1. I would like to offer my Condolences to JoAnne’s family.

JoAnne was my dearest and oldest friend of 45 years. I will always cherish our friendship. We met and had lunch together a couple of weeks ago. I will be forever grateful for that time spent together. As many know, Jo was very intelligent. She was also a talented artist. She created beautiful artwork and could draw very well. I loved her art.

We had some good times over the years just being in each other’s company. I will truly miss that. We were like sisters you get to pick for yourself. We were each other’s cheerleader and confidant. No doubt I will catch myself picking up the phone to call her as we talked frequently. A part of me is gone with JoAnne’s passing. Love you Jo.

    Until we meet again,

  3. I have known JoAnne since freshman year of high school. She had a loving, warm magnetic spirit. The world’s light has dimmed a little with her loss.

  11. JoAnne was my very 1st client when I started my window cleaning co. in Feb. 2004. She was unlike any other client I’ve ever had. She treated me as if I were her son. She called on me if I were sick or injured. I considered her my very good friend. She made me feel like family whenever I saw her.
I am grateful that I had the opportunity of knowing her, and happy that I got to spend time with her. She called me last week and had me come clean the windows on her atrium. It took me longer than ever as we sat and talked most of the time I was there. She was laughing and in such a wonderful mood. She told me she just wanted to see a clear view through her windows from her family room “jut in case” she said. This upset me and as her friend I let her know that. But she just laughed and promised to fight. So I know she did.
JoAnne will be so missed in my life, and a personality like hers will be missed in so many other lives as well.
Rest In Peace JoAnne, love always!

  15. As a friend of Caryn and Rob, I visited JoAnne’s house multiple times for get togethers. JoAnne always made me feel so welcome and at home. She would sometimes steal me away and we’d get wrapped up in conversation just the two of us. I always enjoyed talking to her and could have gone on for ages. Caryn and family I’m so sorry for your loss.

  19. I meet Joanne over 10 years ago as my preceptor at work. Wonderful women! She was so easy to talk to. We had a connection from the first day. She was always a rock and voice of calm, no matter the situation; work or life. I wished her a Happy Easter that morning but never got a response…. We had just talked the other day before. Now I know the snow on Monday and Tuesday after Easter was magical – sent by her! She will always be with us, guiding and loving us!! Rest In Peace my dear friend. You may have ran ahead, but we will catch up to all the good stories when I get there!

  21. My sympathies and condolences to her family. She was a very friendly and engaging lady from as far back as elementary school to Mehlville and to her being a “must see” at reunions. God Bless Joanne, it was a blessing to be around her.

  23. JoAnne was the type of friend you might not talk to for years, but then you do and it is like no time has passed. She immediately put people at ease with her calm voice and demeanor. Even when we spoke right before her procedure and things looked pretty bleak, she was calm and in control.
I first met JoAnne about 1977 and we quickly became fast friends. We were pregnant together in 1981. Every expectant mother should experience the joy of being pregnant at the same time as your best friend! JoAnne told me she decided to become a nurse because I looked so cute in my student nurse uniform! We were both maternal-child nurses until Jo went into case management. She wanted me to join her, but I loved babies and kids, so I stayed put. We still loved to swap war stories, though. Life often gets in the way and we didn’t get to see each other as often as we liked, but since I recently retired, we had begun to visit and call more often.
Jo, I’m going to miss you so much! I wish we could have had more time now to sit and talk, but I am thankful for all the time we did have. I’ll still think of you as my best friend! I love you!
