McFerren-Wells

In Loving Memory

McFerren-Wells, Zachary Andrew

The world became a brighter place on July 12th, 1987, the day Zachary Andrew McFerren-Wells was born. Zach, with a smile that could light up a room, will continue to shine bright beyond his unexpected passing on June 7, 2023. Survived by his amazing perfect match of a wife Amber “Nicki” (Cliff) McFerren-Wells along with son Maxwell Wright, and his peanut, Harlow McFerren-Wells. Best friend and son to Martha McFerren, preceded in death by Father Michael Wells. Zach is also survived by the many members of the Wells family. Zach was a wonderful son-in-law to Virginia Cliff. He is an irreplaceable brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and crewmate to all those who were fortunate enough to have him in their lives. Zach left an everlasting imprint on everyone’s path that he crossed and even though he may be gone, his impact will carry on through others as he was an organ donor. There is so much more to be said, but just like his life, this will never be enough. Services: Kutis Funeral Home (Affton) at 10151 Gravois Rd St. Louis, MO 63123

  1. I’m so sorry to learn of Zach’s passing. I met Zach at Trader Joe’s. He had the most infectious smile and great personality. Zach would greet me with that great smile and called me by name. That always impressed me considering all his customers. Always ready to help. Zach will be deeply missed. My sympathy to Zach’s beloved family.

  5. Zach was one of my “why’s” I entered into education. First met him as a freshman this hungry, scrawny, fun-loving kid who wanted to challenge the line coach to a ladder of hammer curls. There was no challenge to big for him. We continued our contacts through our Summit alumni football mentorship. Our challenge is to come together, support Nicki and the children and make sure his legacy is cemented. Love to all.

  7. I had the unique opportunity and honor to teach and coach Zach in his high school years. Yes, he worked hard and excelled in sports but he also did so in life. His presence was impossible to ignore and his larger than life personality always shined through all while confidently exhibiting a calm, happy demeanor. I was able to reconnect with Zach last summer and felt pride for the man he had become with a loving family and so many loving friends around him! I am a better person because of Zach. He exemplified what it means to be an amazing teammate and leader. My deepest condolences to Zach’s family and all who shared in his love.

  8. We met Zach when he first began working at Trader Joe’s. He captured our hearts immediately as he and our son Zach were exactly same age. We smiled through the years watching Your Zach grow as a man, a husband and a father. He was so proud of his family and always showed us the most recent photos. He shared so much of who he was with us and it made us want to aspire to be the same friend to everyone that he was to so many fortunate friends. We truly love him and will continue to send our love to his precious loved ones.
