Christine Marie (Wania) McKinley, 68, went to heaven on January 12, 2018. She was the loving wife of John “Jack” McKinley of 47 years. Born in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Philomena (Kustra) Wania and Thaddeus Wania. She attended Bishop Du Bourg High School. She was a homemaker, bookkeeper, and dabbled in real estate.
She will be remembered most for her love of raising her family. She had a huge heart and would help anybody. It was always the more the merrier at any occasion with her love for cooking and welcoming spirit. She had endless energy and a mind that never stopped preparing and organizing schedules, meal, rides, trips, celebrations, making sure everyone was taken care of.
She is survived by her husband Jack McKinley and mother Philomena (Kustra) Wania. She was the loving and patient mother of Kevin McKinley, Karen (Nick Burgett) McKinley, Misti (Patrick Hamel) McKinley, Michael McKinley and Keith (Sabrina) McKinley. She was best buds and proud grandmother of Connor McKinley, Natalie McKinley, Jack McKinley, Dominic McKinley, and Lucas McKinley. She was sister to Rita Wania and James Wania and sister-in-law to Joan (Stephen) Newman and Barbara Bick.
A brief chapel service will be held on January 19, 2018 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery from 1:45 pm – 2:00 pm. Park and gather at the front office. We will be directed to the chapel from there. 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis, MO 63125 – (314) 845-8320
At Christine’s request there will not be a wake but a Celebration of Life. All are invited to help us celebrate her life. Come as you are, stop in to share a story, a drink, a hug.
