Larry Wayne McClaine was born on September 12,1951 and went home to Jesus on November 3, 2025. He was born in Breese, Illinois to Kathryn and Don “Scotty” McClaine when his father was stationed at Scott Air Force Base. In his early years, the family lived in Lincoln, Nebraska and Amarillo, Texas before settling in Greencastle, Indiana where Larry grew up. He graduated from Greencastle High School, then trained as a paramedic. He helped start Operation Life Ambulance Service in Putnam County, IN, and was its director until he married Jo Alley in 1978, and they moved to St Louis. The couple were active members first of Oak Hill Chapel, then Kirkwood Road Christian Church. Larry’s various jobs in St Louis included Paramedic/Supervisor for St Louis County Ambulance, President of Bayless Hardware and Software, Computer Specialist for the St Louis Cardinals, and Children’s Library Assistant at Kirkwood Library. Larry and Jo had 2 daughters Pam (Glenn) Wallace and Liz Martinez: grandchildren Glenn (Haley) Wallace, Jonnie (Casey) Wallace, Will (Abby) Wallace, Josh, Peyton, Ben, and Jackson Wallace, Troy and Mercedes Martinez; and great-grandchildren Daniel, Wesley, and William Wallace.
