Meadows

In Loving Memory

Meadows, Stephen William

Was called home In the morning hours of March 5, 2023.   He was 40 years old. Stephen was born to Timothy G Meadows and Nancy L. Dirnbeck (nee Stockmann). He was a devoted partner and friend to Ilona Sijka, whom he spent ten wonderful years with.  He was a loving father to Stephen Paul and Jacob Isaac Meadows. He was a dear brother to Eric Thomas Meadows. He was a devoted son, father, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Stephen is preceded in death by his grandparents Mary Jane and Thomas E. Meadows, Patricia Wilkus and Will O. Stockmann. Stephen was a Teamster for many years. He was such a good- hearted soul who always wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time. He was the life of the party, loud, fun loving and sincere and loyal.   Above all, he loved his friends and family beyond all measure. His second family, the Meteers will miss him greatly.   His Chicagoland posse will forever remember the fantastic times they shared. May he rest in peace.

Services: Visitation will be held at Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry) on Thur. March 16th 4-8PM. Then prayers at 9:15 AM prior to leaving for St. Joseph Catholic Church (Imperial, MO) on Friday 3/17 for 10AM mass. Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Stray Rescue of St Louis.

  1. Ilonja, my heart goes out to you, I’m so sorry for your loss and for Stephen and Jacob. This is so heartbreaking. Steve was such a super nice guy and could make anyone laugh. I will never forget the time at Piedmont Lake singing the “Red Solo” cup song he hated, but took in all in stride. He will forever live on in your heart and soul. God Bless you all, you’re in my thoughts and prayers.

  7. Steve was a good friend. I am so sad this was devastating to hear and my prayers go out to all Steve’s family and friends. He was such a great man and father. We had so many talks about our kids and I will never forget all the fun times I got to share with Steve. Just a couple months ago I ran into him and after not seeing him for so long it was like we didn’t even miss a day. He was so friendly, funny, and full of life. I just read the last couple texts we had and just smiled. He was one of a kind and will be missed by all people he touched in life. RIP Steve-O

  17. Stephen was one of the first people to take me “under his wing” when I would drive from Arkansas to Chicago to see my favorite trance artists. He always took the time to show me around and introduce me to his friends which made me feel so welcome. Even though we only hung out in person a handful of times, we would message and call each other multiple times a week, sometimes just to check in or share music. We had just spoke a couple of weeks back about planning a trip for him and Ilojna to visit my wife and I in Florida. I plan to honor Stephen’s memory by being as friendly and caring to people I meet as he was.

  25. I’m very sad to hear a dear friend to me and someone I’ve known since I was 17 has passed away. Big Steve you were such a big personality but an even bigger friend and person. You were the life of the party and filled the room. You played a big part in my life over the years and I will always remember all the crazy fun times we had.

Give ‘em hell up there. You will be missed beyond words. Praying for IIona, your family, and your kids. I’m still in disbelief and shock. RIP BIG STEVE!

  35. Words are not enough to describe how much one feels, when a good person dies early. Godspeed be with you Tim and your family. Love to the extended families who also watched over Stephen while he walked his unfortunate short time on earth. Hold your beloved close to you and tell them you love them and live everyday to it’s fullest.
