Loving wife of the late Bernard “Bernie” T. Merkel; beloved mother of R. David (Sally), Thomas (Tammie), Gregg (Debbie), John (Rebecca) and Paul (Miya) Merkel; dearest grandmother of Corey (Cori), Brian (Lauren), Kate (Jeffrey), Caitlin (Samuel), Nathan, Zoe, Derek, Misty (Mark), Brittany (Daryl) and Nick (Allison); dear great-grandmother of Cayden, Coleton, Cruz, Sebastian, Tristen, Julian, Emmitt, Eleanor, Deacon and Fern;  dearest sister of the late Sally Brinson and Edward Dougherty; dear sister-in-law of the late Gus Merkel and Marie (Whitey) Heine; dear aunt of Kimberly, Bob, John (Betty), Steve (Cindy), Dave Heine, Diane (Ralph) Schneiders and the late Gary (survived by Val) Merkel; our dear cousin, great-aunt and friend of many.

Madelyn was a good mom, homemaker and loved by all that knew her.

Visitation Wednesday, September 10, 9:00 a.m. until Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois Rd.  Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association, PO BOX 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
