  1. Mrs. Messmer was my second grade teacher at St. Gabriel’s in 1965-1966. She was a wonderful teacher, and I loved her dearly. Know that she made a difference in my life and in the lives of so many kids.

  9. Hello,
When I was double checking this service for a floral order we received, I found that the address for the church is incorrect above. That is the address for the rectory. St Raphael the Archangel Church’s address is 6040 Jamieson Ave, 63109.

    Just wanted to clarify.

Thank you, and so sorry for your loss,

  11. Whenever I’m asked who my favorite teacher was, I think of Mrs. Messmer, who taught second grade at St. Gabriel’s. I don’t remember much of what she taught – I just remember how kind and caring she was. Her beautiful connections with students influenced my own teaching.

Thank you, Mrs. Messmer, for being a guiding force in my life and the lives of so many others. May you rest in peace.

  13. Rich, Rick, Tim, Patrick and your lovely families, heartfelt condolences on losing such a wonderful human being. How blessed you all have been experiencing life with such an exceptional human being. Anytime I was at a family function like Thanksgiving at the farm, a wedding or baby shower, a reunion, it was always a joy to visit with Pat. She was always smiling and sharing memories of former days which was always a treat for me to hear about the experiences in the Hrdlicka household. And it’s not surprising at all to hear of her former students’ recollections of having her for a teacher, and especially a second grade one. I can believe how many students have such a love of Jesus for being guided by her because Pat’s presence was such a loving, accepting one. I believe that all those who love her have a heavenly advocate as we continue on our paths. Thank you Father, for such a wonderful gift in our lives.

  17. Pat was a dear friend from Notre Dame High School. She, Mary Claire, Jackie and myself bummed together in those years. Jackie died some years ago and Mary Claire died just one month before Pat and I am the one left of the foursome. I am having a Mass in celebration of Pat’s life on January 6 at the 7:45 am Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Oakville, MO. So sorry for your loss. 62 years is a long time and a gift from God.
