Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Thursday, March 3, 2022. Beloved husband for 55 years of Susan Metherd (nee Wyrwich); loving father of Jeff (Stephanie), Stephen (Jill), Andrew (Jennifer) and the late Jennifer Anne Metherd; dear grandfather of Melanie (Evan) Asher, Alayna, Maya Jo, Ian, Olivia, Emily, Jimmy, Annie and Ella Metherd.

Mr. Metherd was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Friendly Knights Chess Club.

Services: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois, Thursday, March 10, 9:30 a.m. to St. Mark Catholic Church for 10:00 a.m. Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Masses at St. Mark Church (4200 Ripa Ave., 63125) or memorials to Missouri Right to Life (1000 Executive Parkway Drive, #229, 63141) appreciated. Visitation Wednesday, 2-8 p.m.

    We know that he is with his Heavenly Father now.

    I’m so sorry we missed Dave’s visitation. Kathy Kraus just emailed me yesterday about Dave’s passing. Just a few months ago at a prolife rally downtown he looked great and was his cheerful self. He was a wonderful man who was taken care of by his wonderful wife. You both have been such an inspiration for Bob and me.
