Richard (Rich) F Metzger, of St. Louis, Missouri, baptized in Jesus and fortified with the Sacraments, entered into rest peacefully, Thursday, April 23, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Lillian M. Metzger (nee Wrobel), father of Curt (Debrah) and Mark (Geni); dear grandfather of Danielle (Chris), Ashley (Tim), Victoria, Miranda (Jacob), Melissa (James), Alex (Devon) and Scot (Séverine); great grandfather of Dacoda, Corabella, Brooklyn, Drew, Jacob Jr., Lillian, Olivia, Vincent, Florence and late Liam; brother of Sandy Vendt (Bill) and Jean Schmidt (late Al); dear uncle, cousin and friend.
Rich was an active outdoorsman who hunted and fished as often as possible. He was frequently seen in his backyard sipping a cocktail, barbecuing and listening to a Cardinals baseball game on the radio. He loved being around the grandkids and great grandkids. He owned Conveyor and Drive Equipment Company for 25 years and enjoyed his years of retirement. His presence brought laughter and joy and he will be deeply missed.
Services: Visitation at Kutis Funeral Home Affton on Wednesday, May 13 from 4pm until 8pm. Requiem Mass at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 9750 Sappington Road, on Thursday, May 14 at 10 am. Mass will be live streamed at https://sclparish.org/Pray/Stream . Interment immediately following at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with military honors.
