Passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021.  Beloved husband of 64 years to Barbara Lee Mitchell (nee West); loving father of William C. (Sandra) Mitchell, Kevin L. Mitchell and Lisa (Richard) Bulczak; dearest grandfather of Ryan W. (Kathleen) Mitchell, Nathaneal C. Mitchell, Brandon L. Mitchell, Sean P. (Linzie) Mitchell, Kevin Hunter Mitchell, Nicole L. (Matt) Weaver and Bradley R. Bulczak; dear great grandfather of Dominic Lee Mitchell and Westyn Mitchell; dear uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend.

William was a member of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.  He was a wonderful man who took great care of his family.

SERVICES:  Funeral from Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Road 63123 on Thursday, March 4, 12:30 p.m.  Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers contributions to the American Lung Association or to the Valley Park Fire District appreciated.  Visitation Wednesday 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

  1. Our heartfelt condolences go out to William’s family. William touched our lives only briefly at Ryan and Kathleen’s wedding, but in that short time talking with him about our respective military and life experiences, we (Christine and I) came to know he was a wonderful man and a true patriot. He will be missed.
