In Loving Memory

Moran, William Michael

Bill Moran age 67, originally from St. Louis and Barnhart, passed away at his home in Cuba, MO on Monday, February 15, 2021.  Beloved husband of Laurie (nee: Flanagan) Horne and special friend to Justin and Dylan Horne.  Previously wed to Audrey (nee: Hansen) Moran.  Preceded in death by his parents Bill and Fran Moran.  Dear brother of Katy Moran, Linda (Steve) Techner, Mark (Donna) Moran, John (Denise) Moran and the late Pat (Wayne) Hagensieker.  Loyal, loving, and fun uncle, great uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

Bill was a mechanic and tool and die specialist for 25 plus years at BiState Transit.  He was also a roving registered official for the NHRA, working at Gateway National Raceway, Mid America Raceway and Jeffers Motorsport Park.  Bill loved motorcycles, was an avid engine builder, target shooter, reloading specialist, bowler and fisherman.  He was a devilish instigator to his family and friends; “a tough exterior with the biggest heart!”  May the good Lord help him rest in peace.

Visitation on Saturday, February 27, 2021, 12 pm to 4 pm at Kutis Funeral Home 5255 Lemay Ferry Road St. Louis, MO 63129, 314-894-4500.  COVID-19 restrictions apply.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions online at bit.ly/racewaygivesdonate or by my mail to Raceway Gives, P.O. Box 200, Madison, IL 62060, appreciated.

Condolences

  9. My friend Bill. You were my first neighbor when I moved here. You were the one that taught me a lot about many different things over the years. You expanded my thinking with your knowledge. You were a heck of friend and will sorely missed. Say “Hello” to my girls since you are all in a better place. I am sure they are waiting for you like they always did. Rest in Peace my friend.

  11. May you rest in eternal peace! I enjoyed working with you at M.A.R. along with your friendship! We hadn’t seen much of one another after the track closed! But remembered the times at the track!
