In Loving Memory

Muehlenbeck, Wayne Richard

Muehlenbeck, Wayne Richard

age 68, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, in his home in Desoto.

He is survived by his ex-wife Diane Muehlenbeck, his daughter Carolyn Sumariwalla, son-in-law Burzin Sumariwalla, his two grandchildren, Jivanji and Azmira, and his brother, Thomas  Kenneth “Kenny” Muehlenbeck.

Wayne graduated from Southwest High School and SIUE. He earned a Masters degree from Webster University and  Education Specialist degree from Southeast Missouri State.

A loving father and grandfather (dubbed Buppa by the first grandchild, Jivanji), brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle and a dear friend, Wayne had a generous heart and soul. He taught the grandchildren all about fishing and was always willing to share what he knew about computers, gardening, music, trains, and cooking. He was an active member of the St. Lucas U.C.C community for almost 30 years, always helping out in any way he could, usually with the technology on the audio-visual  committee.

A lifelong educator and learner, Wayne taught Computer  Science and upper-level math at the Windsor C-1 School District, later moving into the role of Assistant to the Superintendent in charge of implementing and maintaining the school technology. After retiring from Windsor, he taught Computer Information Systems at Missouri Baptist University.

A lover of technology, gadgetry, music, plants, and above all family and friends, he could not resist feeding and entertaining. Indispensable to many and dearly loved, creative and giving to all with whom he could share his many talents and vast  knowledge, Wayne was reliable and kind and so amiable with a ready smile on his lips and in his eyes – that jovial light will be very much missed.

Services: Visitation at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., Friday, June 16, 4-8 p.m. Graveside service at St. Lucas UCC Cemetery (Denny Rd.) Saturday, June 17, 10:00 a.m. with memorial service at St. Lucas UCC at 11:00 a.m.  Memorials to St. Lucas UCC (A-V Fund) appreciated. []
