Annie T. Nelson (Nancy), beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on December 22, 2025 at the age of 79, surrounded by her family, and comforted by her faith.
Born on April 1st, 1946, in Tuam, County Galway, Ireland Nancy carried her Irish roots proudly throughout her life – its traditions, stories, humor, and deep sense of faith lived on through her and were shared generously with those she loved.
A devout Catholic, Nancy lived her faith quietly but steadfastly. Her belief in God guided her daily life, shaped her values, and gave her strength in both joyful and difficult times. She found comfort in prayer, the sacraments, and the promise of eternal life, and she trusted fully in God’s grace. Her faith was not only something she believed, but something she lived—through kindness, forgiveness, service to others, and unconditional love.
At the center of her life was her profound and enduring love for her husband, Jack. Their marriage was built on devotion, faith, respect, and companionship. Jack was her greatest love and closest friend, and together they shared a life rooted in commitment, laughter, and mutual support. Whether in quiet moments or life’s challenges, their bond was a constant source of strength and joy. Her love for Jack was steady, loyal, and deep—a love that will forever remain part of her legacy.
Above all else, Nancy was a devoted mother to her four sons: Nick, Bryan, Kevin, and John. Being their mom was her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. She raised them with strength, compassion, and a deep moral foundation rooted in her faith. Her love was constant, fierce, and unwavering—she was their greatest supporter, safest place, and forever home.
Nancy was known for her warm smile, gentle spirit, quick wit and generosity, and for making others feel welcome and cared for. Whether through a comforting word, a shared prayer, or a home-cooked meal, she had a special way of bringing people together.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Nelson, her three sons Kevin (Meghan) Nelson, John (Elizabeth) Nelson, Bryan (Janae) Nelson. Along with her 5 grandchildren, Chelsi, Collyn, Conor, Lydia and Cole. Dear sister to Kathy Kelly and Kevin O’Brien. All of whom will carry her memory forward in the lessons she taught, the faith she modeled, and the love she gave so freely. She was preceded in death by her son, Nick, and her siblings, Pauline, Mary, Noreen, Sean and Henry.
Nancy will be deeply missed, but we find comfort in knowing she has been welcomed home into the loving arms of God. Her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped, the family she built, and the faith she passed on.
