Beloved wife of Daniel Nowak; loving mother of Lesley Smith; adoring grandmother of Zachary Smith; dear sister of Robert (Annie) Eichhorn, John (Melissa) Eichhorn and Jacqueline (Stewart) Palazzolo; dear sister-in-law of Louis (Joyce) Nowak and Kathleen (the late Howard) Green. Our dearest aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Kathy was deeply loved by all who knew her. Family was everything to her, and she found great joy in creating traditions, sharing meals, tending her garden, reading, and spending time with those she loved.
She enjoyed a long career as an Administrative Dietitian at the VA before retiring in 2012 to become a grandmother to her beloved grandson, Zachary. She will be remembered for her warmth, impeccable style, legendary holiday meals, and the countless ways she showed her love for her family.
Her greatest legacy will be the love, laughter, traditions, and memories she leaves behind.
Visitation at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church 9750 Sappington 63128 on Tuesday, September 29 from 10:00 am. until Funeral Mass time at 11:00 am. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery. My condolences and prayers for Kathy’s family . We were friends in high school, but sadly lost touch . She was always a very sweet person.

So sorry for the loss of your spouse, Dan, and to Lesley and Zachary as well as Kathy’s sisters and brothers & their families. It is difficult to write this as my husband, Larry, passed away in February of this year with a shocking diagnosis of bone cancer. I enjoyed seeing Kathy at some of our reunions. As we all aged and moved away, many of us lost touch with one another. So sad we never stayed in touch, but families grow and prevent us from staying in contact. My prayers go out to all family and dear friends for your loss. May you find comfort in knowing she is now with God. My sincerest sympathies.

Went to high school with Kathy and grew up 2 houses from Dan & his family, no words can heal the pain of losing a loved one but know you are in my thoughts and prayers

My deepest condolences to Kathy’s family. It was an honor to work with her at the VA Medical Center. She was an exceptional supervisor and a remarkably kind lady, but above all, she was a deeply devoted family woman. I will always remember her as a very proud grandmother who absolutely adored her grandson, Zachary. She brought so much warmth to the workplace, and she leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love. Holding your family close in my thoughts and prayers.

She was just such a special individual. I’ll miss the walks we shared, the movies we watched together, the breakfast outings almost every day and dinners out with friends. We lived a great life together.
I will miss her so much.
