In Loving Memory

Nuspl, Otto Michael

November 18, 1930 - August 30, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Otto Michael Nuspl on August 30, 2025 at the age of 94. Otto was born on November 18, 1930 in St Louis MO where he grew up. He joined the Merchant Marines (US Navy). Then married Phyllis A Bero and raised 4 children. Otto is survived by his wife Phyllis married for 69 years, his sister Helen Nimz, his daughters Debra (Rocky), Cindy and son Vincent (Jewel). Grandchildren Jamie, Michael, Nicholas, Alicia, Ryan, Kara, Stephanie and Michelle. Great grandchildren Sadie, Corbin, Naomi, Amelia, Landon and Savannah. He was a beloved uncle and brother-in-law to many in a truly amazing extended family. Otto is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Elise Nuspl as well as his son Gregory Michael Nuspl (Brenda) passed in 2013. Also brothers Hank, Johnny and Louis. Otto worked as a truck driver, radar electronics technician and a gifted polka musician playing the accordion and singing with his brothers and friends in a band called the Polka Toppers. They brought joy, dancing and celebration to countless people for many years. He loved music and his memory of artists and titles was quite impressive. Otto was also a lifelong sports fan who loved golf and cheered for his St Louis Cardinals and St Louis Blues. He never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune solving puzzles with as little as two letters. He embraced every chapter of life with passion, hard work and joy. From endless road trips, treasured family vacations, he created memories that will live on forever. A life full of music, service, laughter and love. He touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of strength, warmth and song. He will be greatly missed.
