  7. I will say, If you were lucky enough to be his friend, you really truly had a great friend. A true friend. Here is proof. I met Robert in seventh grade at Hixon Jr. High School and was lucky enough to be in the same Spanish class as Robert. Well, It was in Spanish class when the moment occurred were I realized, I needed to hang out with this guy. So, on the first, possibly the second day of Spanish class, Robert definitely caught my attention. Who knew this one single day in Jr. High would lead to a decades-long friendship? But, one day in Spanish class. I was sitting at the back of the class (being scared and shy) with a very good view of the entire classroom. I have to give the little background story. Three elementary grade schools got funneled into one Jr. High and there were quite a few new kids and new faces. Well as fate would have it, a class bully makes the rounds in Spanish class, terrorizing everyone, and it just so happens, the bully immediately singled out Robert, Big mistake. Well, there was some back and forth and so and so until, BAM I witnessed in awe as he dispatched the class bully in short order. The relief of the entire Spanish class real, and word got out to the entire seventh grade at Hixon. News traveled fast in seventh grade. What happened after that, well, Robert created space for all of us to be ourselves. Changed my world for the better. One more thing. If you were lucky enough to be his friend, you really truly had a great friend.
