O’Brien, Judith M. 78, of Kirkwood, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sept. 10, 2026, at Dolan Memory care in St. Louis, Missouri.
Judy was born Aug. 22, 1948, in St. Louis, the daughter of Elmer and Joy Mrazek.
Judy graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1966. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Southeast Missouri State University and her master’s degree at Webster University.
Judy began her teaching career in the Hancock Place school district. She taught First and Second grade for 30 years.
Judy was an independent spirit who loved her nieces and nephews. She loved to read and started a book club with her dear friends. Traveling with her husband, Mike and twin sister, Jane was among her passions. She was especially fond of her trips to France with Jane.
Remaining to cherish Judy’s memory are her loving husband of over 43 years Mike, sister Janice and her nephews James and Jeremy Mealey and Reid Jaekle, her great nieces Jillian and Kate Mealey, and countless nieces and nephews on the O’Brien side of the family.
Preceding Judy in death were her parents and her beloved twin sister Jane and Jane’s husband Fred Jaekle.
Memorial visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123 on Tuesday, October 6 from 10:00 am. until Memorial Service time at 12 noon. Interment will be held in private.
