In Loving Memory

Odam, Mark Thomas

Mark Thomas Odom, age 43, of Oakville, Missouri, passed away on May 11, 2026.

Mark grew up in Collinsville, Illinois, where he attended Collinsville High School. After graduating, he began working immediately and later spent the last 15 1/2 years with U.S. Steel, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.

He enjoyed fishing, tinkering in the garage with his dad and his sons, cooking his well‑known chili, and barbecuing for family and friends. Mark especially cherished those moments spent together, often listening to the classic rock music he loved — Lynyrd Skynyrd, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and similar artists. He also enjoyed watching his favorite shows, Roseanne and The Simpsons. Mark loved cracking jokes and making the entire room laugh; his humor and quick wit were a gift he shared generously with everyone around him, which he inherited from his dad. He was also the kind of man who showed up when someone needed help, always willing to lend a hand. Mark regularly took his mother grocery shopping to support her, a reflection of the quiet, steady care he gave to those he loved. He looked forward each year to celebrating his favorite holiday, the Fourth of July, and treasured his days off going out to breakfast and lunch with his wife.

Mark is survived by his mother, Cathy Odom; his brother, Steven (Abby) Odom; his niece, Jubilee; his wife, Jaime Odom; his sons, Alexander and Christian Odom; his step‑daughters, Ana and Rebeca Perez; and his step‑grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Odom.

SERVICES: Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, on Tuesday, May 19, with private family visitation from 3:00–4:00 PM and public visitation from 4:00–7:00 PM. Funeral service on Wednesday, May 20, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. No burial.

May his laughter echo into our memories and may the love he gave continue to guide us. May Christ, who conquered death, welcome him into eternal life and bring comfort to all who mourn him.

Condolences
