In Loving Memory

O’Reilly, Charles D. “Chuck”, Jr.

Passed into the eternal care of God and heaven on Sunday, November 13th.

He was the loving father of Ron and Dan (Kathy) O’Reilly and the late Patricia Lueders, taken by cancer at age 29. Grandchildren include Ron’s sons Alexander and the late Nathaniel, who died in 2019, Dan’s son Kelley and daughter Erin (Josh) Lewis.

Family, neighbors, friends, fellow Seven Holy Founders parishioners, Southwestern Bell Telephone coworkers, and dining pals and staff at Laclede Groves Assisted Living all witnessed first-hand Chuck’s kindly warmth, religious values and sense of humor. Chuck was steadfast in his roles as loving spouse, devoted father and model citizen. He and Audrey celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary in September 2020. Audrey preceded him to heaven in April 2021.

Chuck was a World War II US Navy veteran. He studied electrical engineering at Washington University, having valued learning and solving a challenge with both his mind and his hands.  Chuck, strongly principled, appreciated the value of a hard-earned dollar and an occasional “cold one.” He gave of himself in life through service to others, including little-league baseball coach and longtime church usher. May he rest in peace.

Services: Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 17th, with both at Seven Holy Founders Catholic Church, 6737 South Rock Hill Road in Affton, MO 63123. Interment will take place immediately after Mass at Resurrection Cemetery.
