Ott, David

In Loving Memory

Ott, David A.

Ott, David Anthony “Dave”

April 30, 1955 – July 6, 2026

David Anthony Ott fortified with the sacraments of the Holy Mother Church passed away peacefully at home on July 6, 2026 surrounded by his family.  The beloved husband of Joan (Peters) Ott, dear father of Timothy (Rebecca) Ott, dear son of the late Carl and Margaret (Kinkel) Ott, beloved brother of the late Timothy (Mary) Ott, Karen (Timothy) Honold, Lisa (Joseph) Schuermann, Lori (Mark) Reisner, dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Dave was devoted to his family. He and Joan were married for 48 years.  They loved to take daily walks throughout their property and really enjoyed being together.  They both loved to sit on their wide front porch and take in the beautiful view of the hillside across the valley and down toward their pond.  Dave had an immense love of all things outdoors.  He spent many happy hours in his youth with his brother Tim fishing and floating on Missouri’s rivers.  Hunting was also a big passion of his.  He enjoyed many outings with his son Tim and several of his nephews.  They will forever cherish memories of these times with him.  Dave was also an excellent cook and searched out new, interesting recipes.  He even tapped the maple trees on their property to make syrup which he shared with family and neighbors.

His faith was very important to him and showed in his daily living.  Dave was a longtime, very active member of St. John the Beloved Disciple Catholic Church.  He and Joan helped with many parish events and activities.

Dave was truly a good man.  He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

May God welcome Dave home and bless those who will miss him, especially his wife and son.
