William (Bill) Edward Ott, age 83, of Lake Ozark, Missouri passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 16th, surrounded by the love and spirit of his family. Bill was preceded in death by, his wife Barbra Ott, his sister Jeanne F. Dunn, and his parents William Francis Ott and Hortense “Blondie” Ott (Bushman).
Bill is survived by his loving sons William (Bill) D. Ott (Wendy) and Gregory B. Ott (Jenn), Janet Ott (Son’s Mother) and Karen Stevens (Younger Sister).
A Graduate of Parkway Schools St Louis MO 1960, Devry Technical Institute Chicago IL 1962, and Lindenwood College (University) St. Charles MO 1975.
Bill was known as a passionate Radio Operator at heart working for US Army Signal Corps, in Commercial Radio as a Broadcast Engineer maintaining and building radio stations (KMOX, KHTR, KLOU, KCLC, KMWR, KYMC, KATZ) in Missouri and over the Central United States air waves.
As a radio technician, enjoyed electronics work from repairing tubed organs, transistor radios, TVs, teaching students radio engineering skills, and participating in HAM radio builds like RF Repeater Radio Stations with autopatch (landline connection) in his garage, leading club members in basic RF communication through mobile radios, similar to mobile phones.
Worked for KMOX Radio 32 years moved to Lake Ozark 1995, enjoyed living ON and BY the water, boating, volunteer officer Rotary International Club, worked fundraisers for children charities, and was a compassionate landlord to many small businesses operating on Bagnell Dam Boulevard.
He loved learning and sharing life lessons and teaching engineering practices from his adventurous experiences. Above all a supportive Father to many around him…

The Chapel Ceremony begins at 10:30 am. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125 at 11:30 am.
