Beloved husband of the late Katherine Patterson (nee Jarrett) of 54 years; loving father of Michael C. Patterson, Brenda (Timothy Welker), Mark (Meghan), Matthew (Samantha Wilson) and the late Tammey Patterson. Devoted grandpa of Dale Davis, Tiffany Sanchez, Joshua Pearson, Jasmine Pearson, Michael Patterson, Katelyn Patterson, Susie Patterson, Katelyn McAndrew, Collin Welker, Luke Le, Abby Anderson, Amber McDonald, Andrew Patterson, Jacob Patterson, Ally Patterson and Serena Patterson; proud great-grandpa of many; Beloved son of the late John “Jack” and Katherine “Katie” Patterson. Dear brother of Christine (George) Stanley; and Gina (David) Jimenez. He was a cherished brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Michael served in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a Vietnam War Veteran present during the TET Offensive, one of the largest military campaigns of the war, and was awarded a Bronze Star for his service. Professionally, Michael worked for Chrysler and was a manager for the Quality Control Department.
On August 7, 2007, Michael was ordained a deacon in the Catholic Church, embarking on a deeply impactful ministry within the Diocese of Pueblo. He primarily served the faith community of Our Lady of the Assumption in Westcliffe, Colorado, while also ministering to regional missions throughout Custer County. Known affectionately as ‘Deacon Mike,’ his spiritual reach extended into Pueblo County, where he regularly shared his faith, leadership, and service with the parish community at Our Lady of the Meadows, as well as various other parishes across the diocese.
Funeral Tuesday, September 22, 9:15 a.m. FROM KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois Rd. to St. John Beloved Disciple Parish, 4614 Blue Springs Dr., Imperial (63052) for a 10:00 a.m. MASS. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation Monday 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
