James Edward Patton, 74, passed away on October 1, 2026, surrounded with the love of his family. Born on August 13, 1952, James was the son of Raymond Edward Patton and Virginia Ruth Logan. He was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend.
James was the proud father of nine children: Todd (Jamie) Koepke, Becky (Kelly) Tubb, Barb Koepke, Gabe (Kelly) Patton, Jake Patton, Pete (Christina) Patton, Susie (Jason) Menne, David Patton, and Mary (Brennon) Flood. His family continued to grow over the years, blessing him with 27 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his life. James is also survived by his brother, Thomas Patton, and his sisters, Barbara Capriglione and Patricia Patton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Virginia Patton; his sister, Gail Menefee; and his brother, Michael Patton.
James spent his career in logistics, making sure everything and everyone got where they needed to be. That talent for coordinating schedules extended well beyond his working years and into the busy lives of his nine children. Despite a full career and an even fuller household, James always found time to be involved. He coached youth soccer, refereed high school and club soccer, and umpired adult softball. He loved trivia and poker and rarely passed up an opportunity for a little friendly competition. His legacy lives on through his nine children, 27 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and the many stories and memories they will continue to share. James will be deeply missed and forever loved.
