In Loving Memory

Perkins, Judith “Judy”

Judith “Judy” Ann Perkins – née Dehart – passed away on June 3rd, 2023 after a heroic fight with leukemia. She was 74 years old.  Judy is survived by her sister, Debbie Degnan, her son, Aaron Perkins, and her daughter, Abbra White, as well as her grandchildren, Madilyn and Emilia.

Judy was born on February 1, 1949 in St. Louis to Bernetta (“Nettie”) and Pat Dehart. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work in 1971 and, in 1995, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Missouri. She went on to earn her Master of Arts in Teaching from Webster University in 1999. A dedicated educator, Judy spent the majority of her professional career within the Fox C-6 School District in Jefferson County as a special needs teacher. Ever conscious of others, Judy also devoted time as a social worker and served in the Red Cross. In 1980, she welcomed her son and, in 1985, her daughter. They, along with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as her love for God, were the most important parts of her life.

In addition to being a beloved mother and a woman of abiding faith, Judy was fond of horses. She thrilled others with her skills as a country line dancer, made short work of a good book, planned memorable vacations on which to whisk away her family, and appreciated all the local wineries. She was a hard-working, fun-loving, and unfailingly benevolent soul, often found volunteering at Helping Hands and Horses in Herculaneum. Judy will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her, as well as by her Tennessee Walker horse, Pistol.

A memorial visitation for Judy will be held at Kutis Funeral Home on Lemay Ferry Road on Saturday, June 17 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Helping Hands and Horses or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

  1. Praying for the family and friends who love Judy and will continue to miss sharing life with her as we remain on this earth. We rejoice because we know we will see her again soon and worship at the throne of the God she represented in everything she did.
