Beloved daughter of the late  Dolores E. (Joseph) Ponder (nee Gucker) and Ralph W. (Valada)  Phleger; dear sister of James V. “Pete” (the late Pauline, nee Russo) Ponder, Suzanne (Jerry) Dudak (nee Ponder),  Jerry Dudak and the late Joseph E. (the late  Gisella)  Ponder Jr., the late Alita Hughes; dear aunt of Katherine (Gary) Schultz, Mark (Reene) Ponder, Stephanie  Muraca, David (Angela)  Ponder, Nancy Dudak, Christopher  Dudak, Jim Brown,  Debbie McDaniel,  Barbara Case, Christine Billbury and special aunt to Cynthia Meinardi (nee Farley); our dear great-aunt, great-great-aunt and friend to many.

Ms. Phleger retired from Union Electric after 45 years.

Services: Memorial visitation at  KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151  Gravois, Wednesday, June 1, 5:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Louis County Library Foundation or the Humane Society of Missouri. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mark  Novak, the staff of St. Luke’s Hospice and the staff and nurses at Surrey Place for all of their kind, loving and professional care of Virginia.
