Roger was born on July 25, 1933 and passed away peacefully in his sleep at 4:00 AM October 3, 2025 at 92 years of age. Roger’s father was Clifford Placke and his Mother was Katherine (Carten) Placke. Roger’s brother was Donald C Placke Sr. . Roger was single all his life and was the uncle of Cliff D. Placke (deceased) , Carl R. Placke (deceased) and Donald C. Placke Jr. . Living in St. Louis all of his life, being part owner in Placke Chevrolet and was owner / President of Carten Investment. Graduated from Washington University and playing baseball all four years. Roger served in the Navy after graduation then returning to the automobile business in St Louis. Roger enjoyed the sport of handball , being inducted into the Missouri Athletic Club Hall of Fame in 2000. Roger spent many hours on the creation of the St Louis Hinder Club in the old Armory. Roger was the President of the Missouri State Handball Association for several years. A Doubles State Champion and friends with many of St. Louis handball community.
