In Loving Memory

Pollard, Ruth N.

Ruth N Pollard (nee Ramsey) daughter of the late William Lee Ramsey and Lois Louise Harvey passed away peacefully July 26th2022, at the age of 93 surrounded by her loving friends.

Ruth was born in Omaha, Illinois and was a vital part of the farming community on her grandparent’s farm during her early years. Not long after graduating high school Ruth moved to Alton, Illinois to pursue more opportunities. Ruth held various accounting/financial jobs over the years. Ruth had a love for numbers, and she later pursued and worked her way up to director of cash management when she retired. Ruth paved the way for many women during her era. Ruth knocked down glass ceilings and barriers through her countless efforts of never backing down or giving up. She always said she worked “twice as hard for twice as long for half as much”.

Ruth’s later years were spent in St. Louis where she was the bookkeeper for her church and devoted board member to her subdivision complex for many years. Ruth’s passion, determination and devotion to her friends and community are unmatched. Ruth had many interests such as word puzzling, riding her bike, traveling (road trips being her favorite), talking on the phone and going out to eat with her friends.  Ruth’s biggest love of all, are all her dogs over the years. Ruth provided unconditional love to all her dogs and made sure she provided them with the best home possible and pampering them beyond belief.
