In Loving Memory

Portell, Sharon Kay

Sharon Kay Portell, 68, passed away January 10th, 2023 at Mercy Hospital South. Sharon was born on July 31, 1954 to Dorothy Hildreth and Marion Bratcher.

Sharon had been retired the last 6 year’s, spending time doing things she loved like traveling to Florida’s Universal Studios. As avid Harry Potter fans her, her husband and granddaughter loved spending time there. She also loved taking short trips with her family. One of her favorite things she found on one of her trips was an all white statue called “End of the Trail”., for some reason that statue became a thing of beauty to her. Sharon loved her family unconditionally, that was her hobby. She was never happier than being able to spend time with her family and people she loved, barbecuing or cooking way to much food and laughing.

Sharon is survived by her husband Martin Portell, her daughter Stacey Fuhrman, son John Hildreth, her stepchildren Cliff Portell, Melanie (Troy) Sheppard and Josh Portell. Grandchildren Anastasia (Cameron) Price, Jessica (Jerry) Bergner, Isabella Fuhrman, Dillion (Karly) Sheppard, Tori (Andrew) Jackson, Olivia Sheppard, Jake Sheppard, Carter Portell, Sophia Sheppard and 3 great grandchildren Chloe Price, Gunnar Price and Eleanor Jackson.

Sharon was a beautiful and kind woman and would never let anyone go without. She is missed and loved tremendously and we have followed her wishes to be cremated. A private service to celebrate Sharon’s life will be held at a later date.

  1. Stacey & family I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending love & peace to you all. I met Sharon many moons ago & she was always laughing & nice to everyone although had a spicy side which I loved. She was beautiful inside & out. I pray daily for you Stacey. I Love you & you have a team of friends to help you get through this difficult time.

  3. I wish I could’ve had the pleasure to know Sharon more than the couple brief times I met her, but what I knew of her through Stacey was how much love she had for her family, not to mention her spunk, and her sense of humor. So many prayers of comfort and peace for all who knew and loved her. I know she is so deeply missed by you all. Stacey and Bella, you’re on my heart <3
