Carolyn (Carrie) Elizabeth McNabb Poulette, 45, of Webster Groves, MO, died unexpectedly on August 12th, 2025.
Loving mother of Ella and Michael Poulette & Mary Grace McClure. Cherished daughter of Jeanne (John) Morrow and William (Susan) McNabb. Sister of Timothy McNabb, Daniel McNabb, Patricia (McNabb) Vinyard (Evan), Ricky McNabb, and Sara Morrow. Niece, cousin, and friend to many.
Though Carrie encountered many struggles later in her life, she always had a deep love for her family–particularly for her treasured children, Ella, Michael, and Mary Grace. Carrie grew up in Webster Groves, Missouri. She attended Annunciation Grade School, Nerinx Hall High School, and Missouri State University.
Throughout her life, you could find Carrie out seeking all sorts of adventures with friends and family. Carrie lived life profoundly and led abundantly with her heart, rarely seen without a smile on her face. Carrie was an athlete. She grew up playing basketball, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, swim team–you name it–she even played ice hockey and softball as a young mother. She loved to be surrounded by nature. She camped, hiked, fished, water-skied, and rollerbladed. She loved music–from her very first concert seeing the Grateful Dead in 1995 with her parents and her brother Danny, to her last concert seeing the Dixie Chicks on a special mother/daughter/granddaughter night with life-long friends.
Above all, Carrie adored her children and was a doting mother. She loved sharing every ounce of life with them, going above and beyond for them when she was able. Always creating activities for joy and learning. She sang songs. She put love notes in lunch boxes. She did backflips on the backyard trampoline. She snuggled up for a lullaby and a bedtime story. Her happiest days were spent with her children. Carrie’s time on earth is over too soon, and our hearts are broken. We will carry her love in our hearts and hold her forever in our memories.
SERVICES: Carrie’s celebration of life will be held at KUTIS FUNERAL HOME AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois Road, St. Louis, MO 63123 on Friday, August 22. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. with the memorial service beginning at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carrie’s name may be made to Harris House Treatment Center, 2706 S. River Rd St. Charles, MO 63303.

Carrie was a bright bubble with a fabulous smile. She shared her love for her children and the outdoors every time you saw her. We will miss her.
Wishing peace to her friends and family
It’s been some time since I’d been able to catch up with Carrie but that has never stopped her from popping into my mind to say hello – usually a random memory of some wonderful times spent together. What a truly beautiful, authentic soul. I am so, so sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry you lost your beautiful, vibrant Carrie. I remember Carrie visiting Cape Cod with my mom (Jeanne’s Aunt Mary Ann) when Carrie was young. My mom was thrilled beyond measure with Carrie’s joyous company — I believe a trip highlight was body surfing at the Cape Cod National Seashore. Sending you love, hugs and prayers.
All who knew Carrie loved her. We are keeping all of you in our hearts.
She was and will always be a shining light.
This is such a heartbreaking loss of a beautiful soul. My mind goes back to memories of Carrie in two of my classes, walking down the hall at Nerinx, always smiling. Carrie was a loving, devoted mother and friend. I’ll always remember her radiant smile. Rest easy now, sweet Carrie.
Carrie was a light in our lives for so many years, she was like family to many of us. A dear friend who loved her life and her kids to no end. She was such a lovely person, always caring and doing her best to make everyone around her happy and comfortable. She will be dearly missed, forever in our hearts. We send our deepest sympathies to her children, and her loving family. We love you Carrie.
Carrie sounds like a beautiful soul. I’m so very sorry for your loss and wish you only the fondness memories of your daughter.
There are so many, many good moments to remember with Carrie in the midst. Yes! Her radiant smile. Yes! Her enthusiasm for fun. Yes! Her playful love of all children — most especially her own. She ached during their absence and never waivered in her love for them. I will miss her vibrancy and the energy she brought to fill up every room. I’m grateful that she is peaceful now. To the family who loved her: Stay strong in knowing we loved her in every moment in every way.
