Probst

In Loving Memory

Probst, Kathleen (Kathy) Marie

Kathleen (Kathy) Marie Probst

Kathleen (Kathy) Marie Probst, age 77, of St. Louis, Missouri has joined her heavenly family.

Kathy was an incredibly loving, supportive, and devoted wife, mom, mother-in-law, grandma, great-grandma, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend (especially to her longest and dearest friend, Dotty Hettel).

She was a woman of strong faith in God and a proud member of the Association of the Congregation of St. Joseph. Her life truly reflected the organization’s mission of “unity and inclusive love of God and the dear neighbor without distinction”.

Kathy’s love of people and relationships went even beyond family and friends as she made an impact in St. Louis through many years working as a fundraiser for non-profit organizations such as The Salvation Army, Channel 9, and Maryville University – a calling which she loved.

She also loved the color yellow, crossword puzzles, finding the perfect gift for people, and watching the news, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, The Voice, and pretty much anything on Channel 9. Her favorite thing was conversation and connection with people on any topic but especially social justice, theology, politics, spirituality, and her kids and grandkids.

Kathy is survived by her faithful, loving and devoted wife and partner of 32 years, Linda Renaud; her children, Dave, Suzy, Ken (Jennifer), Dan (Sue), Jim (Nicki), Mary Jane (Kathie McCann) & Timothy (Yemi Derebe); her grandchildren, Lauren, Ben (Haley Roeder), Jack (Brittany Kujawa), Aubrey (Noah Fridley), Kassie Dalgetty, Noah, Hannah, Sydney (Christian Blouin-Weers), Zoe, Maddie, Aevrie, and ZZ; great-grandchildren: Lucy, Matthew, Macy, Greyson, Cora, and Ender.

In lieu of flowers, Kathy requested donations  in her memory to one of the non-profit organizations that were close to her heart: Channel 9, Annie’s Hope, Microfinancing Partners in Africa, or The Muny.

Services will be held at Kutis Funeral Home at 10151 Gravois Rd with visitation on Tuesday, November 16 from 4pm – 8pm and funeral ceremony on Wednesday, November 17 at 12:30pm. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks following the funeral ceremony

  7. Kathy was a wonderful CSJAssociate in our holy Trinity circle – she told terrific stories, had a great memory for songs, details of the good in people! We savored her writing and rendition of “God’s Steadfast Love”. I celebrate her full, rich life with gratitude that she is with Sr. Ruth Margaret again at last! May Linda find comfort in our prayers as Kathy is embraced fully in God’s love.

My deepest sympathy. Kathy gave me life and courage and faith. whether in prayer, aids retreats, personal counseling. money making chances, going to Guatemala, board meetings singing, egging me on about preaching or a million of other ways. I thank her for her life , power, courage and blessing. May she rest in peace.
