Asleep in Jesus February 15, 2022. Bertie Lou Rader (nee Hake) was the beloved wife of the late William (Bill) R. Rader, dear daughter of Frederich and Lydia Hake (nee Lippert), dearest mother of Carla Rader Juelfs, dearest mother-in-law of John Juelfs, dear niece of the late Hazel (nee Lippert) and Lincoln Jones, dear Godmother of Linda Mueller, faithful friend to Geraldine Hunt, Joyce Schroeder, Albert Beinke and the late Charlotte Ward, cousin and friend to many.
Bertie was born in Centralia, Illinois on August 5, 1928. She attended Bryan Mullanphy School and Bayless High School and was an honor graduate of St. Louis Business College. Bertie met Bill at Walther League at Gethsemane Lutheran Church and waited for him to return from World War II where he served in the U.S. Army in Europe. Bertie was employed at Busch Sulzer Diesel Engine and then later at Merchant Shippers. Bertie and Bill were married in August, 1946 and were blessed with their only child, Carla Jeanne, in 1962.
Bertie served her dear Lord at Peace Lutheran Church in Woodson Terrace and Prince of Peace in Crestwood for over 60 years. Bertie and Bill traveled extensively and had many friends and relatives who shared their love for their Lord and Savior. A devoted daughter, wife, mother, niece, cousin and friend, she will be dearly missed.
Visitation at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 8646 Sappington Road, Crestwood, Missouri 63126 on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 8:30 – 10:00 am. Service at 10:00 am. Interment immediately following at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
