Kent A. Rawizza, born July 19, 1947, spent 78 wonderful years on this Earth until his passing on August 26, 2025. Son of Robert and Alma Rawizza; brother of Alan Rawizza; beloved husband for 35 years of Linda K. Rawizza (née Schubert); loving father of Jeffrey and Erica Rawizza, and Jessica Smith; grandfather of Jillian and Madelyn Smith; friend and beloved by many.
Kent was a drummer in his youth, playing in Gaslight Square, and a pole vaulter at Southwest High School. After graduating from St. Louis University, he joined the 12th Army Special Forces. Later he was a commercial bank loan officer at Mercantile and Eagle Banks until he retired at age 71 to enjoy his family, golf, fishing, and motorcycling. He prioritized caring for his family, providing for his children’s education, and ensuring a happy and enjoyable life for all. He will be dearly missed but his legacy will live on as his family remembers the love, knowledge, habits, and care he shared with them. We know he will be watching over his family from heaven beside his parents.
A wake-style (business casual) memorial service will be held at the home of Tom Hammelman, a lifelong friend of Kent. Attendees are welcome to drop in as available from 1-5 p.m. CST on Sunday September 21 at 16 Kennerly Manor Drive, Saint Louis, Missouri, 63128.
