John Elmer Reusch, 75, passed away on August 4, 2026. He was born on January 18, 1951, to Elmer and Flora Reusch.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, B. Jean Reusch (Kettler); his son Daniel and wife Mallory; his son James and wife Lauren; and his cherished granddaughters, Harper and Everly.
John dedicated his life to the jewelry business, beginning his career at just 13 years old at Wehmueller Jewelers. His passion and expertise led him to open his own store in 1982, Moritz-Reusch Jewelry, which he built into a lasting legacy in the community.
Outside of work, John lived life fully. He loved to travel, with Jamaica holding a special place in his heart as a favorite destination he returned to time and again. He had a lifelong love of cars, and took great pride and joy in his newly restored Shelby Mustang. John was also devoted to staying active, making working out a regular and meaningful part of his life.
John will be remembered for his craftsmanship, his zest for life, and the love he shared with his family. He leaves behind a legacy built on dedication, adventure, and the relationships he cherished most.
Services: Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois, Friday August 7th, 4:00-8:00 PM. Burial will be private. Jean: I have thought of you so often during the past (????) years and I am so sorry to hear of John’s death. I member what a wonderful secretary you were, what an accomplished jeweler John was, and how excited you both were when you were pregnant with your first child. Yes, a lot of years ago, but I remember you with great fondness. I am so sorry about John and I know that his memory will always be a blessing for you.

I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing. I have known John and Jean for over 45 years! All my favorite jewelry pieces and stories were created in John’s office and the store counter. Lots of conversations about cars and travel sprinkled in with jewelry education and guided decisions. Please know the whole family is in my thoughts and prayers. Doug & I are so sorry to learn of the loss of a wonderful caring person. He was the first tenant I worked with at the University Tower, and he always was an upbeat positive person. He truly was a creative genius as well!

We are so sorry to hear of John’s passing. He was a dynamic individual ready for challenges and helping others. We first met them when they were building their home on Middlewood Ct. They were wonderful neighbors. We were also customers of John’s Jewelry Stores. From Olive Street to University Tower, we purchased some wonderful pieces with his guidance. Always a pleasant experience. His son Dan has taken over the jewelry business and we are to say that we are continuing the relationship. John thank you for all you have done. We will miss you!

I had the great pleasure of seeing John over several years at our local gym. He always greeted everyone with kind words, a big smile, and a firm handshake. He was quick to give an encouraging word to those in need and share a laugh even if it was at his own expense. John was a true gentleman and I consider myself lucky to have met him. You will be remembered and missed.
My wife TJ and I are devastated to hear of John’s passing. He loved what he did so much and loved helping people find exactly the right piece of jewelry for their needs. Every visit with John was an uplifting experience. He was full of life and seemed to enjoy it to the max. I didn’t get to know him personally, but he took care of us for a few decades. My condolences to the family.
I just found out this morning of the passing of John about a week ago. John and Jean are wonderful neighbors and friends. John and I both loved automobiles, jewelry, and nice things. My favorite memory was the Fall day many years ago when I let John drive my 1966 Corvette and he let me drive his Porsche 911. We got back to my house and as soon as we hopped out of his car our massive 130 pound golden retriever, Astro, hopped right in with his muddy paws and sat right in the passenger seat ready to go for a ride. OMG! John spent the rest of his day trying to get his car clean! A true perfectionist and wonderful neighbor. Rest in Peace!
