age 75, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
Father of Tamara (Randy) Hopton, Oceanside, CA; brother of Linda (Bill) Griffith; grandfather of Olivia, Tess and Tanner Hopton; uncle of Amanda Evans and Brad (Tina) Griffith; dear cousin, great uncle and neighbor.
Dave was proud of his Navy Service. He also enjoyed many years and friendships with his Frisco Pool Hall buddies, particularly Terry Smith who helped him endure his final year. He lived in his childhood home and treasured his Lindenwood neighbors, Rachael, Greg and Tim. Dave wanted no public funeral service but wished everyone to think of him with the words “I Did It My Way”. The family wishes to thank SSM Hospice for their all encompassing care and support. Memorial contributions may be given to SSM Health Foundation, St. Louis, 12312 Olive Blvd., Suite 100, St. Louis, MO 63141.
Visitation Monday, May 1, 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois Rd. Private Service and Private Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
Linda & Family and Friends of David:
Ann & I want to extend our deepest sympathies and condolences upon David’s passing. We’re glad David is out of pain now and in a much better place.
One of the last times David and I talked, we reminisced about our good experiences as young first cousins in the mid 1950’s. It was amazing how much we both recalled from those years.
Ann and I also fondly remember David making a special effort to come to our wedding back in the summer of 1968. He was there dressed in his white naval uniform along with his parents, my Uncle Robert and dear Aunt Peggy.
