What a shock to hear that our beloved cousin has passed away! As far as I can remember she went to the US in 1983 and came back in 1989 to marry Ron, the love of her life. I was happy to visit them in San Mateo in the summer of 1997 where they lived for a long time. Even though she lived far away we were able to keep in touch. May her soul rest in peace. For me and our beloved mother (sister of Helena’s mother) as well a shock, as we were under the impression Helena was still battling her disease successfully, thanks to good treatments and a healthy lifestyle.
We have spent a donation to the KWF (Dutch Cancer Society). We are very sorry for Ron, Carmen and Charlotte, and all others who are hit by this loss, and do wish everyone lots of strength to get thru this.
I met Helena as well in San Mateo back in 2007 during a holiday in California, and do still remember the long walk we made in a beautiful nature park.

Dear Ron, I hereby want to express my sympathy on the loss of your beloved wife, Hélène.
I was shocked to hear that she had died, because I thought that she had conquered this terrible disease.
I remember Hélène, when she left for America years ago. She was a lively, courageous and enterprising young woman, full of plans and expectations.
After her marriage she developed as a real successful business woman. She was bright and she performed the work with great passion.
It’s a great pity that she died at this early age!
She leaves a big emptiness behind.
I wish you a lot of strength to cope with this sad loss!
