Rooney

In Loving Memory

Rooney, Michael C.

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Monday, September 6, 2021.

Beloved husband of Nancy J. Rooney (nee Hodge); loving father of Diana (Shawn) Harmon; adoring grandfather of Shawn Michael, Elizabeth and Matthew Harmon. Our dearest brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Mike started his business career at Hussmann Electric in 1957. He then went on to work at Westinghouse / Wesco from 1960-2006. He served as a National Accounts Manager for many years at Wesco, which took him all around the country and the world. He loved his job and the people he worked with. He was a kind man and treated everyone with dignity and respect.

Mike loved the game of soccer and played until he was in his early 50’s. He also enjoyed playing softball and fishing. He also served in the US Army Reserves.

Mike, better known as PeePaw, loved to spend time with his 3 grandchildren. He spent many hours taking the kids to the zoo, playgrounds, and anywhere they wanted to go. They will miss their PeePaw.

Most of all, Mike loved his wife of 58 years, Nancy Joan.

Mike was a bright light in this world, and he will missed by all that had the good fortune of meeting him.

Visitation at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (7622 Sutherland Ave. 63119) on Saturday, September 11 from 9:00 am. until funeral mass time at 10:00 am. Interment at Macadonia Cemetery (Rolla, Mo.)
