In Loving Memory

Rudolf, Barbara “Jeanie”

September 7, 1947 - September 23, 2025

Jeanie was born to Raymond Glenn and Eva Bernice (Hemphill) Dickens in Lebanon, Missouri on September 7, 1947. She moved to the St Louis area in 1976, married Fredrick Rudolf Jr and raised her children in Barnhart, Missouri. She worked as a hairdresser throughout her career. Jeanie enjoyed camping and fishing when she was younger but playing cards was her passion. She enjoyed playing first with family and later at the Elks where she spent many evenings with friends around the table. She enjoyed games of skill and chance.

Jeanie was active in the Elks organization for over 35 years. She served as the Ladies President, Vice President and several other Auxiliary roles. She volunteered since first joining, and served on many committees working BBQ, Bingo, and Bunco among other things. She ran the Christmas Basket program for several years and recently was presented a service award for that work.

Preceded in death by her husband Fred, parents and two bothers Darius Ray and Eddie Lee, who died as children. She is survived by two children Melissa (Kenneth) Braun and Michael (Laura) Appleby. She had one grandson Zachary Appleby and claimed Kenny (wife Jennifer, daughters Haylee and Leighton) Braun and Jennifer (Rich) Braun and their families as her own. Her greatest joy was time spent with those she loved. She will be missed by many.

Services; Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry) on Wednesday 10/1 from 9AM until service at 10AM. Interment JB National Cemetery.

  1. Sending much love from Arizona- I am not able to travel for the services but was able to speak with her recently, so thankful to hear her beautiful laugh. My Mom was her close cousin. Rest in peace in the Lords hands Jeanie.
