Born January 16, 1959 – St. Louis, Missouri passed away September 28, 2026 at Age 67 after a long battle with cancer. He fought like a warrior!
After graduating from South County Technical School, Bill served in the United States Army from January 16, 1980, until June 7, 1983.
Bill worked for MB Sturgis, Inc., as a Quality Inspector for 10 years. Also, he worked several years in the Food Service Industry, and worked odd jobs off and on.
He enjoyed all sports and was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues, rarely missing a game and always cheering for his hometown teams. He also enjoyed shooting pool, playing cards, and going to horse races.
He had a big heart and would give the shirt off his back if you needed it. His kindness and generosity touched everyone who knew him, and his presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Bill is preceded in death by his father, William N. Sackman, and mother, Virginia B. Sackman. He is survived by his brother, Steven Sackman (Sharon); sister, Susan Floyd (James); brother, Ricky Sackman; and brother, Kevin Sackman (Teresa). He also leaves behind 33 nieces and nephews.
Visitation services will be held Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63129. A mass will be held Friday, October 2, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St Margaret Mary Alacoque, 4900 Ringer Road, St. Louis, MO 63129. Following mass the Interment will be held at New St Marcus Cemetery Chapel, 7901 Gravois Rd, St. Louis, MO 63123.
The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Bill.
