Sanders 1-crop

In Loving Memory

Sanders, Sgt., S.L.M.P.D, James “Jim”

July 1, 1967 - September 15, 2025

James “Jim” Sanders, Sgt., S.L.M.P.D. entered into rest on Monday, September 15, 2025. Devoted husband and best friend of Rita Sanders (nee Beckemeier) for 32 years; loving father of James “Jimmy” (Alaena) Sanders, Mark Sanders and Anna Sanders; treasured son of Charlene H. and the late James P. Sanders; son-in-law of Clarice R. Beckemeier and the late Wilbur Beckemeier; brother-in-law of Randy (Linda) Beckemeier and uncle of Daniel and David Beckemeier and the late Lauren Heryford, hero, teammate and friend to so many.

Jim was a man of faith, who loved rugby and playing hockey, anything physical. He was also Mr. Fix it; everday he felt he had a job to do. He would drop anything to help someone in need, no questions asked. Whether it was protecting the St. Louis Community with the St. Louis Police Dept., making repairs and improvements on his own home or any one else’s, he never sat still. Jim gave all until he could give no more. Speaking of his family, they were his greatest joy. He was a devoted husband, father and son, striving to provide, to protect and always be present. He worked tirelessly to ensure his loved ones were cared for, supported and safe. His family was his foundation and his greatest achievement. Jim, go enjoy a margarita in paradise. You took care of Rita, Jimmy, Mark and Anna; we”ll take it from here, rest in peace.

Service: Visitation at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd, on Friday, September 19, from 9 a.m. until time of service 12 Noon (Sameday). Burial will be private.
